Dentist opening in South Carolina - Located in Orangeburg, SC - Columbia 45m, Savannah 120m - Full-time, permanent position - Extended Adult position Description: - Ensure the efficient and effective delivery of quality, appropriate dental care to all patients by formulating, initiating and monitoring patient management plans based on established standards of care, writing prescriptions and providing follow up care as needed and referrals as appropriate in accordance with approved protocols and standards of care. - Provide direct patient care, including but not limited to obtaining complete medical history and conducting oral examinations, ordering and reviewing x-rays, conducting tooth fillings, extractions, root canals, and crown and denture preparation and installation as appropriate, complying with all applicable infection control and safety procedures. - Comply with all applicable infection control and safety procedures. - Conduct patient and staff oral hygiene education and give oral instructions/ demonstrations. - Assist in establishing and implementing dental care standards and protocols for dental services provided, implementing as determined. - Receive and respond appropriately to patient inquiries, concerns and complaints in accordance with organizational policies and procedures. - Prescribe medications using e-prescribe, printing controlled substance prescriptions. - Accurately enter all patient notes into electronic medical records system. Complete all ESBs and EMR organizer tasks in the time frame outlined by FHC. - Make appropriate referrals when treatment needed is out of the scope of the dentist's qualifications. - Consult with other members of the health care team as appropriate. - Participate in interviewing and selecting employees, provide input for performance reviews, and provide input for employee discipline, including discharge. - Exhibit compliance with corporate compliance policy. - Perform job activities in ways that are respectful, courteous and responsive while interacting with patients, visitors and co-workers. - Perform other duties and assume other responsibilities as appropriate or as directed.
