Located on the Thames, Shetucket, and Yantic Rivers at the junction of Interstate 395 and Route 2, Norwich is a historic city that provides its residents easy access to Hartford, New Haven, and the shoreline. One of Connecticut’s two National Scenic Byways, Route 169, begins at the junction of Routes 2 and 32. Route 169, sometimes called the General Israel Putnam Highway, runs north from Norwich to the Massachusetts state line.
