Perm Physician - Ophthalmologist (Refractive and Cataract), Northwest Nevada

Is it time for a change? We are hiring a Perm Refractive and Cataract Ophthalmologist in Northwest Nevada!

Job details:

• Private, independent practice with a fully equipped Ambulatory Surgery Center on-site.
• Practice has one physician and 3 ODs
• Case mix: Primarily refractive, cataract, and LASIK procedures, with general ophthalmology as needed. The exact breakdown will be tailored to your skills and interests.
• Patient volume: Physicians can expect 30-40 evaluation patients per day.
• Surgical volume: Typically 20-30 cases per surgery day at VSCON, with surgery days every other Monday and every Wednesday.
• Optometrist collaboration: Routine glaucoma maintenance is managed by optometrists. When a case becomes surgical (MIGS, iDose, etc.), the patient transitions to the surgeon’s schedule.
• Referral process: The incoming surgeon will need time to build relationships with local ODs. Referrals will be distributed based on trust and patient outcomes.
• General ophthalmology: Routine cases are managed by optometrists, while surgical and complex cases are handled by MDs.
• Option to have a designated scribe for efficiency

Job Requirements:

• Board Certified in Ophthalmology
• Fellowship in refractive/cataract (glaucoma or retina welcome to apply)
• NV state license (or willing to obtain)
