The VA Greater Los Angeles Healthcare System is seeking a comprehensive Ophthalmologist to provide outstanding ophthalmic care to our nation’s Veterans. This role involves delivering expert clinical care in outpatient ophthalmology clinics and performing surgical procedures in the West Los Angeles VA operating rooms. The incumbent will also be responsible for teaching and supervising medical students and residents, participating in academic activities, and engaging in research to advance the field of ophthalmology. Collaboration with interdisciplinary teams, including Primary & Ambulatory Care, Optometry, and Low Vision Services, is essential to ensure seamless and comprehensive patient care.

We seek a highly skilled and motivated physician committed to excellence in patient care, education, and research. Responsibilities include supervising and mentoring trainees, leading educational conferences, participating in institutional committees, and contributing to quality improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate will work closely with the Ophthalmology Surgery Service, Surgical and Perioperative Careline, and Research Service to strengthen our academic Ophthalmology Section.   • Competitive Salary Range: $260,000-$320,000

Qualifications

Qualifications:
• Must be a U.S. Citizen
• Degree of Doctor of Medicine or equivalent allopathic or osteopathic medicine
• Must possess a current, full, and unrestricted license
• Must have completed residency in an accredited core specialty
• Must be BC/BE

Working Hours

Work Schedule: Mon-Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm (some flexibility considered)
