Ophthalmologist opening in California - Located in Yuba City, CA - Sacramento 40 miles - Full-time - Permanent Position Job Summary: Under the direction of the Chief Medical Officer, the Ophthalmologist is responsible for quality and completeness of assigned medical services at any of the clinic sites. Essential Responsibilities: Diagnose and treat a variety of eye conditions and diseases, potentially performing procedures and addressing traumatic eye injuries Conduct comprehensive eye exams, vision tests, and additional tests on patients as needed Prescribe corrective lenses for eyeglasses and contact lenses and medication Provide management and treatment for chronic eye diseases like glaucoma and macular degeneration Offer pre- and post- operative care in collaboration with surgical specialists Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care Stay current with advancements in Ophthalmology including trends in care, diagnosis, and treatment of eye disorders and integrate new techniques into practice when approved. Educate patients on proper eye care and preventive measures Maintain EHR/Medical Records documentation, keeps case histories in accordance, and meets contractual requirements per corporate procedures Participates in consumer education and in-service training for support personnel Quality of care (Quality Measures) and participation in Peer Review Offer virtual care via phone and video calls, utilizing video whenever possible, encompassing assessments, clinical history collection, diagnosis, and guidance or treatment Must adhere to assigned shifts including evenings and weekends as per contract Capable of independent job performance, punctual attendance, consistent completion of scheduled shifts, and ensures high-quality patient care Model Ampla Healths culture and values through humility and curiosity Work with a multidisciplinary team including other doctors and staff Provide input in the development and implementation of plans and procedures for ophthalmologic services Other physician duties as assigned by supervisor Qualities: Cultivates positive relationships with colleagues, patients, the public, and stakeholders Upholds the highest ethical standard and serves as a role model for colleagues Demonstrates a commitment to continuous learning and remains open to new approaches Education Must hold MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school Must have completed and approved Ophthalmology residency program Additional Qualifications Must hold a valid California State Physician and Surgeon License Must be Board Certified or Board eligibility in Ophthalmology Current CPR certification Must be sensitive to the corporations diverse patient population Demonstrates thorough understanding of the clinics structure and protocols Skills: Must have neat and legible handwriting Must be able to interact with patients, vendors and co-workers courteously and calmly Ability to communicate well with the public and excellent hand-eye coordination Proven work experience as an Ophthalmologist Expert working knowledge of the diseases, functions, and anatomy of the eye Strong physics and math skills with excellent medical knowledge Good administrative and managerial abilities Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs and push up to 100 lbs (on wheels) Must be able to work on feet the majority of the day without tiring Must be able to hear adequately to auscultate B/PS Must have adequate vision for accurate reading of tuberculin syringe increments Must have high manual dexterity and tactile sensation on fingertips Must be able to reach above the shoulder level to work, bend, squat and sit, and twist/turn Working Environment: Routinely exposed to blood borne pathogens potential verbal or behavioral aggression from patients Routinely exposed to contagious/infectious diseases Ability to perform multiple tasks and work in a fast-paced environment Estimated pay range/amount is $339,900 - $463,500.
