We are seeking a dedicated Optometrist to join our team at a well-established wellness center in beautiful Alaska. This is a unique opportunity to provide comprehensive eye care in a supportive, community-focused environment.

Position Highlights:

  • Flexible Schedule: Choose between Monday-Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM, or four 10-hour shifts, with no call responsibilities.
  • Collaborative Team: Work alongside an Optometry Director, Office Manager, and three Para-Optometric Technicians.
  • Modern Facilities: Our clinic is fully equipped with state-of-the-art diagnostic tools including OCT, Optos, digital phoropters, Humphrey visual field, and more.

Patient Care:

  • Average 12-15 patients per day with a focus on refractive and ocular health assessments.
  • 80% general optometry, 20% therapeutic care.
  • Retail services include contact lenses and prescription spectacle lenses.
  • Utilize Cerner EMR for seamless patient record management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform comprehensive eye exams for patients of all ages, checking for vision defects and general health conditions like diabetes or hypertension.
  • Prescribe medications and treatments within state guidelines and provide pre- and post-operative care for cataract and refractive surgeries.
  • Write referrals and collaborate with other healthcare providers when needed.
