Last Update: 9/20/24

We are seeking a Board-Certified Ophthalmology Physician for a locum tenens position at a hospital-based practice in Grand Rapids, MI. This role involves providing specialized eye care services for adult and geriatric patients in a Level 2 trauma center. The physician will be responsible for both non-surgical and surgical/invasive procedures, including laser treatments, with an even split of practice focus between non-surgical and surgical care.

The position requires the physician to be on-call for 24-hour shifts, one week per month. During these on-call periods, the physician will provide timely and effective care for any ophthalmologic emergencies that arise. The average number of patients seen in the hospital is relatively low, about 1-2 per month, allowing for focused and attentive care. This role is entirely hospital-based, focusing on adult and geriatric patient care. All patient interactions and procedures will need to be documented accurately using the Epic EMR system.

Requirements:

· Board Certification in Ophthalmology

· Active Michigan medical license

· BLS/ACLS is not required unless performing moderate or deep sedation
