The Vanderbilt Eye Institute is seeking a full-time pediatric optometrist to join our team.
The Vanderbilt Eye Institute (VEI) is a multi-specialty academic ophthalmology practice with 72 clinical and research faculty members, state-of-the-art facilities and equipment and multiple satellite offices to serve an annual patient volume in excess of 170,000. We promote a collegial environment with a collaborative and diverse culture that has enabled unprecedented growth. The Division of Pediatric Ophthalmology serves approximately 15,000 patients annually through a supportive team of ophthalmologists, optometrists, orthoptists, and pediatric technicians. VEI is part of the Vanderbilt University Medical Center, one of the nation’s premier teaching and research hospitals. Clinical responsibilities will be primarily carried out in offices located in Franklin and Murfreesboro, TN, both of which are located 20-30 miles from downtown Nashville. The successful applicant will hold a Doctor of Optometry degree from an accredited school and current optometric licensure or eligibility for licensure in the state of Tennessee. Experience through a pediatric optometry residency or equivalent is desirable. Candidates should demonstrate commitment to exceptional clinical care and to the goals and priorities of an academic medical center. Finally, while board certification from the American Board of Optometry is not a prerequisite, the applicant will be expected to acquire board certification in the first four years of employment.
Vanderbilt University Medical Center is an Equal Employment Opportunity and Affirmative Action Employer.
Middle Tennessee is among the fastest-growing and most prosperous areas in the nation, with ample opportunities to enjoy education, music, art, dining and outdoor recreation.
