The Vanderbilt Eye Institute (VEI) in Nashville, Tennessee is actively seeking an ophthalmic hospitalist. VEI is a large multi-specialty academic ophthalmology practice with multiple satellite offices and annual patient volume in excess of 160,000. The candidate will be joining an established, world-class faculty of approximately 70 individuals.

Vanderbilt University Medical Center (VUMC) is a high-volume tertiary care facility committed to providing the best possible care, as well as educating future physicians. The ophthalmology consult service has seen exponential increases in requests for services, and this opportunity is the first formal appointment of an ophthalmic hospitalist.

VEI seeks candidates who are certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology or board eligible. The position will involve resident education and will include caring for some patients independent of resident participation. The successful candidate will be an excellent clinician, a motivated educator, and a team player. This position has flexibility in terms of full-time versus part-time, and surgical versus non-surgical practice.
