Job description
We are seeking a Locum Radiation Oncologist to provide part-time clinic coverage. The position includes responsibilities for patient evaluations, simulation, dosimetry treatment planning, radiation therapy prescriptions, and patient follow-ups. The locum physician will also oversee treatment alignment and accuracy through daily image verification and ensure compliance with on-site procedures.
This role offers an opportunity to work independently with no call, weekend, or holiday responsibilities.
- Conduct patient evaluations, consultations, and follow-ups.

- Perform weekly assessments for patients under treatment.
- Verify treatment alignment and accuracy through daily image checks.
- Supervise on-site procedures for compliance.
- Manage cases involving external beam treatments, on-treatment visits, SRS verifications, and occasional follow-ups.

Qualifications
Active Illinois medical license – Required.
DEA certification – Required.
BLS certification – Required.
Minimum of one year of experience in radiation oncology.
Must have proficiency in managing external beam treatments and related radiation oncology procedures.
Working Hours
No weekends, holidays, or on-call responsibilities.
Skills
Ability to work independently and manage a busy clinic environment.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in treatment verification.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Proficiency in using Epic EMR.
