Job Opportunity: Medical Physicist in Davenport, IA
The nationally accredited cancer care program in Davenport, IA, is seeking a Board Eligible/Board Certified Medical Physicist. Join a dedicated team that provides collaborative care and offers advanced treatments such as SRS, SBRT, IMRT, DIBH, and SGRT. The facility utilizes state-of-the-art technology including TomoTherapy Hi-Art and Varian TrueBeam, ensuring high-quality patient care and safety.
Job Responsibilities:
- Provide safe therapeutic radiological physics to the Radiation Oncology Department.
- Ensure equipment safety, quality patient care, and compliance with regulatory standards.
- Participate in patient-specific QA, chart QA, linear accelerator QA, plan checks, and support for Radiation Oncologists, Dosimetrists, and therapists.
- Calibrate and commission linear accelerators and other radiation sources.
- Implement new technologies as needed.
- Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team of medical professionals.
- Maintain a good work ethic and strive for excellence within a team environment.
Qualifications:
- MS or PhD in Radiology/Radiological Sciences.
- Board Eligible with plans to become Board Certified or Board Certified in Medical Physics by the American Board of Radiology (ABR) or the American Board of Medical Physics (ABMP).
- Clean malpractice history.
- Willingness to become registered in Iowa as a Radiation Therapy Physicist.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
License and Certification Requirements:
- Valid Iowa license or willingness to obtain.
- Requires J1 or H1B visa support if applicable.
