Job Opportunity: Medical Physicist in Radiation Oncology
The nationally accredited cancer care program in Davenport, IA, is seeking a passionate Board Eligible/Board Certified Medical Physicist. This esteemed practice offers a team-based collaborative environment dedicated to providing high-quality care and treatment. At the forefront of radiation oncology, the facility boasts advanced technologies like SRS, SBRT, IMRT, DIBH, and SGRT, catering to an average of 35 patients daily with two state-of-the-art linear accelerators.
Job Responsibilities
- Provide safe therapeutic radiological physics to the Radiation Oncology Department.
- Conduct quality assurance, calibration, and commissioning of linear accelerators and other radiation sources.
- Participate in patient-specific QA, chart QA, and plan checks.
- Collaborate with Radiation Oncologists, Dosimetrists, and therapists for optimal treatment procedures.
- Ensure equipment safety and quality patient care in compliance with regulatory agency standards.
- Implement new technologies as required and support teaching initiatives.
- Participate in on-call duties with a schedule ratio of 1:2.
- Work Monday through Friday with no weekend scheduling.
Qualifications
- MS or PhD in Radiology/Radiological Sciences.
- Board Eligible or Board Certified by the American Board of Radiology (ABR) or American Board of Medical Physics (ABMP).
- Willingness and ability to register in Iowa as a Radiation Therapy Physicist.
- Clean malpractice history.
- Strong work ethic and team collaboration skills.
- Open to candidates graduating from residency in 2025 who will be Board Eligible upon completion.
License and Certification Requirements
- Current Iowa license or willingness to obtain.
- Must meet the criteria for US Board Eligibility or Certification in Medical Physics.
- Note: Not open to candidates with lapsed Board Certification.
