Medical Director of Proton Therapy

Required Qualifications:
Medical degree and residency in Radiation Oncology from accredited university
Ability to obtain Florida medical license
Board-certified in Radiation Oncology
Excellent organizational, leadership, communication, and clinical skills

Minimal Required Experience:
Prior experience as proton center Director preferred
Minimum of 2 years’ experience in an established proton center

Job Summary/Purpose
Cancer Institute, in anticipation of treating patients with the new IBA ProteusONE in early
2026, is seeking a Medical Director of Proton Therapy. The Proton Medical
Director will be responsible for organizational and clinical leadership as we
prepare to roll out this exciting new technology to our community. The Proton
Medical Director will be responsible for developing proton clinical protocols,
overseeing training of other staff radiation oncologists, supporting clinical
research, and engaging the surrounding medical community. These
responsibilities will all be with the support of, and in collaboration with, our
partner- Cancer Institute.
The Cancer Institute is anticipating delivery of the IBA systems ProteusONE
in the first quarter of 2025. The ProteusONE provides an elegant, compact proton
therapy solution, with state-of-the art imaging and delivery. The machine will be
Flash and Dynamic Arc ready. The proton facility is attached to an existing state of
the art cancer center.

Essential Job Functions:
Maintain highest standards and keep abreast of the latest treatment indications
for delivery of proton therapy for our patients.
Superb organizational skills will be required to direct and lead the proton team to
deliver optimal, safe, and effective cancer treatment.
Excellent communication skills will be required to maximize effective messaging
to the medical and patient communities.
