Position Overview:
The Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Memphis, TN, is seeking an experienced and board-certified Radiation Oncologist to provide high-quality radiation oncology services to our veterans. The ideal candidate must be Board Certified in Radiation Oncology by the American Board of Radiology (ABR) with a minimum of 5 years of post-residency clinical experience. The position requires expertise in advanced radiation therapies, including 3D Conformal Radiation Therapy (3D-CRT), Intensity Modulated Radiation Therapy (IMRT), Stereotactic Body Radiation Therapy (SBRT), and Stereotactic Radiosurgery (SRS).
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive radiation therapy services to veterans, ensuring the highest level of care following the latest treatment protocols and standards.
- Administer and oversee treatments involving advanced radiation therapy techniques including:
- 3D Conformal Radiation Therapy (3D-CRT)
- Intensity Modulated Radiation Therapy (IMRT): Minimum 3 years of experience required.
- Stereotactic Body Radiation Therapy (SBRT): Minimum of 10 documented cases within the last 2 years.
- Stereotactic Radiosurgery (SRS): Minimum of 10 documented cases within the last 2 years.
- Utilize and manage the Eclipse treatment planning system and ARIA record & verify system, with at least 3 years of experience in the following treatment modalities: 2D/3D Conformal, SRS, SRT, SBRT, and IMRT/VMAT (following standards of TG-53).
- Ensure all treatments are delivered in compliance with VA policies and best practices.
- Maintain detailed patient records and adhere to the VA's Medical Staff By-Laws, rules, and regulations.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and execute personalized treatment plans.
- Communicate effectively with patients, their families, and other medical staff, providing clear explanations of treatment options, processes, and expectations.
Qualifications:
- Board Certification: Must be Board Certified in Radiation Oncology by the ABR.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of post-residency clinical experience in Radiation Oncology.
- Expertise: Must have documented expertise in the following areas:
- 3D Conformal Radiation Therapy (3D-CRT)
- Intensity Modulated Radiation Therapy (IMRT) with a minimum of 3 years of experience.
- Stereotactic Body Radiation Therapy (SBRT) with a minimum of 10 documented cases within the last 2 years.
- Stereotactic Radiosurgery (SRS) with a minimum of 10 documented cases within the last 2 years.
- 3 years of experience with the Eclipse treatment planning system and ARIA record & verify system.
- Licensure: Must hold a current, full, and unrestricted medical license in one or more states. Physicians with any past or present license restrictions will not be considered.
- Language Proficiency: Must be fluent in speaking, understanding, reading, and writing in English.
- Must provide verifiable evidence of all educational and training experiences, including any gaps in educational history.
