The Department of Radiation Oncology at the University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine is seeking applications for a clinical track faculty physician. The position will be available at the rank of Instructor, Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor, on the clinical (non-tenure) track. This role is ideal for dedicated and highly qualified radiation oncologists who are eager to provide exceptional clinical care in our community practice located in Bettendorf, Iowa. This practice is integrated with the University of Iowa Holden Comprehensive Cancer Center and offers onsite medical oncology services.

Our department provides comprehensive support, including physics support, radiation therapists, nursing, and other staff. The practice engages in weekly quality assurance chart rounds with affiliated sites and practitioners at our main site in Iowa City, with conferences accessible remotely.

We are equipped with a Varian 21iX linear accelerator, a Phillips Big Bore CT scanner, and the Mosaiq oncology management system. Treatment planning utilizes the Philips Pinnacle system.

Our capabilities include 3D-conformal radiotherapy, electron therapy, kV cone-beam CT, intensity modulated radiation therapy (IMRT), volumetric modulated arc therapy (VMAT), 4D-CT, and stereotactic body radiation therapy (SBRT).

Requirements & Qualifications (all candidates):
  • Candidates of all experience levels are encouraged to apply.
  • Applicants must have an M.D., D.O., or appropriate degree and at least four years of residency training in Radiation Oncology.
  • Candidates must be board certified or eligible by the American Board of Radiology-Radiation Oncology.
  • The selected candidate for the position must be eligible to obtain or already hold an active Iowa medical license.
  • The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience of working effectively in an inclusive environment and be comfortable with team-based care.

Successful candidates will be required to self-disclose any misconduct history or pending research misconduct investigation including but not limited to sexual misconduct in prior employment and provide a related release and will be subject to a criminal background and credential check.
