Shift: 5x8-Hour, Monday-Friday (8:00 AM – 5:00 PM), with night and weekend call rotation
Position Overview:
The role offers a flexible schedule, with 3 weeks of coverage per month, and the opportunity to work in a supportive, multidisciplinary cancer care environment. The ideal candidate will be experienced in chemotherapy, biologic therapy, and hormone therapy, with the ability to manage a diverse patient population. A minimum of 2 years of experience in oncology is required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide medical oncology care for adult patients (ages 18+), including diagnosis, treatment, and management of various types of cancers.
- Administer chemotherapy, biologic therapy, and hormone therapy.
- Conduct consultations, manage follow-up care, and oversee patient care in the infusion center.
- Participate in a call rotation for after-hours and weekend coverage.
- Collaborate with a support team of nurses, nurse practitioners (NPs), therapists, and hospitalists to ensure comprehensive care.
- Utilize Cerner EMR (Aria platform) to document patient information and track the patient’s entire treatment journey.
Required Qualifications:
- Board Certification in Medical Oncology is required.
- DEA Certification is required.
- BLS Certification is required.
- State License: A North Dakota license is not required for submission, but candidates must be able to obtain it. Credentialing typically takes 60 days if already licensed in North Dakota, or up to 90 days for out-of-state candidates.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in medical oncology (preferably with a diverse range of cancer types).
- Skills:
- Proficiency in chemotherapy, biologic therapy, and hormone therapy.
- Ability to manage a diverse cancer patient population.
- Experience using Cerner Aria platform is a plus, but not required
Schedule and Call Details:
- Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, with 3 weeks of coverage per month.
- Call Rotation: Night and weekend call required. Candidates are needed to cover call for 1-2 weeks per month.
