Medicine for Business and Industry (MBI) operates outpatient clinics specializing in acute injury care within an Occupational Medicine setting. Our services focus on treating occupational injuries. No chronic pain management! Our fully integrated EMR system enables physicians to deliver high-quality patient care with minimal administrative responsibilities.

MBI currently has 31 locations in Colorado, Arizona, California, and Nevada. Significant career growth opportunities are available for qualified candidates. Compensation:
Hourly rates range from $100.00 to $135.00, depending on experience + $10K annual KPI bonus opportunity

Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm


Responsibilities:

  • Provides healthcare to patients both in clinic and via tele-medicine according to the established principles of clinical practice and the current organizational plan or need.

  • Provides support and assistance to any Advanced Practice Provider (APP) at the Physician’s clinic location including supervising or rendering care for patients as needed. Center Medical Director will serve as primary supervisor for APPs.

  • Perform complete history and physical exams including all body systems, vision, hearing, and/or electrocardiograms for the purpose of determining capacity to safely perform specified job functions.

  • Provide medical opinion regarding job accommodations if needed to safely perform specified job functions.

  • Review and interpret radiographs of the chest to determine the presence of a pre-existing pulmonary condition prior to beginning work.

  • Participate in the legal process of workers’ compensation, including SAMM’s calls, depositions, and testifying in hearings when requested.

  • Perform Fit for Duty evaluations.

  • Evaluate and manage the following conditions:

    • Common occupational musculoskeletal injuries of the neck, back, and upper and lower extremities.

    • Work-related injuries to the head with or without loss of consciousness, assuming the individual is currently conscious and alert.

    • Work-related injuries to the chest or abdomen, with the possibility of hernias.

    • Work-related lacerations of the face, scalp, and extremities.

    • Work-related eye injuries, including foreign bodies to the eye, non-penetrating eye injuries, and chemical exposures.

    • Work-related rashes and other occupational skin conditions.

    • Occupational asthma and other work-related respiratory symptoms.

    • Treatment of non-displaced uncomplicated fractures, including interpreting radiographs, splinting, and orthopedic referral when appropriate.

  • Evaluation and management to include:

    • Perform complete and accurate history and physical, including detailed documentation of current work-related complaint, mechanism of injury, activity, and occupational limitations, leading to accurate diagnosis and medically appropriate management of the patient.

    • Being aware of OSHA recordability and rendering medically appropriate care, while being aware and sensitive to treatment which makes an injury recordable to the employer.

    • Knowledge of "first aid" treatments, and using them when medically appropriate, including appropriate over-the-counter medications, application of heat or cold, bandages, basic wound care, referral for home exercise training.

    • Prescription of appropriate medications and therapy.

    • Ordering and interpretation of appropriate radiographs.

    • Referral for specialized testing such as MRI, EMG as necessary and appropriate.

    • Referral for specialty care as appropriate.

    • Identification of appropriate limitations to activity at home and work.

    • Rendering an opinion regarding causality and work relatedness.

    • Communication with employers at the completion of the first visit to review the treatment plan and work capacity of the patient, and at times through the case as requested from the employer or when deemed necessary by the treating provider.

  • Participates in strategic planning activities as requested by the Executive Team.

  • Serve as a leader in the clinic, working in partnership with the Clinic Manager and Medical Director to promote the best patient outcomes, work processes, and staff engagement.

Requirements:

  • MD/DO 

  • Occupational Medicine experience preferred, but we are willing to train otherwise qualified candidates with experience in UC, FP, IM, ER, Sports Medicine, or Ortho 

  • FMCSA certified for DOT exams preferred, required within 60 days of hire (certification expenses covered by MBI) 

  • Current state licensure in good standing (or in process) 

  • Current DEA licensure 

  • Level II Accredited preferred.

  • Excellent communication skills 

  • Proficiency in computer use and Electronic Medical Records systems. 

  • Strong organizational and time management skills 

  • Professional appearance and demeanor 

  • Must maintain confidentiality.

  • Bilingual in Spanish is a plus
