**Position Overview:**
Join the team, an occupational medicine clinic, as a dedicated physician with a passion for evidence-based occupational medicine. This role offers the opportunity for growth into a Medical Directorship and a leadership position within the clinic.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- **Patient Care:** Provide clinical care two days per week, addressing workplace health issues and implementing evidence-based practices.
- **Leadership and Administration:** Oversee clinic operations three days per week, including staff support, development, administrative tasks, and state and federal contract oversight.
- **Certifications:** Obtain or maintain certification with the National Registry of Certified Medical Examiners and as a Medical Review Officer (MRO).
- **Regulatory Knowledge:** Demonstrate a strong understanding of workplace regulations, including workers compensation, occupational safety, and transportation regulations.
- **Education and Communication:** Participate in and present educational programs, such as CAOHC and the NIOSH respirator program. Show effective communication skills and the ability to make strategic decisions.
**Qualifications:**
- **Medical Background:** Board certified or board eligible in occupational medicine (preferred), internal medicine, family medicine, or emergency medicine. At least three years of experience in occupational medicine is preferred, though urgent and primary care experience may be considered.
- **Leadership Experience:** Previous experience in a leadership role, with the ability to inspire and train staff, and demonstrate strong presentation skills.
- **Team Collaboration:** Ability to work collegially with a diverse team of physicians, advanced practitioners, nurses, medical assistants, health coaches, dietitians, and administrative staff.
**Community and Work Environment:**
- **Location:** Serve Kennebec and Somerset counties in central Maine, including Augusta. Engage with state government organizations and various industry site clinics.
- **Work Hours:** Operate between 8:00 am and 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday, with no call and minimal evening or weekend work.
