Job Description
The Department of Radiology at the Sidney Kimmel Medical College at Thomas Jefferson University seeks a subspecialty trained, full-time neuroradiologist at the Assistant or Associate Professor level to join the Neuroradiology/ENT Division.
The division consists of nine faculty members in a high-volume clinical service overseeing and interpreting studies across the spectrum of neuroimaging performed at our Center City and South Philadelphia campuses, as well as state-of-the-art suburban outpatient imaging centers. The department utilizes a single common IT platform to support eight regional hospitals. The Jefferson Hospital for Neuroscience is the only hospital in the Philadelphia area dedicated to treating diseases of the central nervous system. The division also provides radiological services for the nationally renowned Wills Eye Hospital.
The Department boasts a highly regarded residency program with forty residents, and the division maintains an ACGME-accredited neuroradiology fellowship with four fellows, along with an additional three combined MSK/neuro MRI fellows. The division collaborates closely with neurosurgery, orthopedic surgery, otolaryngology, neurology, ophthalmology, rehabilitation medicine and psychiatry, as well as research PhDs within the department. An active clinical fMRI program is part of the division.
There are ample opportunities for clinical research in a variety of areas as well as unique expertise in Health Policy research. In addition, the Jefferson Integrated Magnetic Resonance Imaging Center (JIMRIC) provides ample support for neuroradiology research. The division has numerous collaborative projects with JIMRIC including diffusion imaging of the spinal cord, cortical mapping/fiber tract mapping for functional neurosurgery and functional imaging for neuro oncology. There are also research and development opportunities with our departmental machine learning/artificial intelligence group, data science and Imaging Informatics.
Applicants must have: 1) an MD, DO or equivalent degree, 2) completed an ACGME-accredited radiology residency program and either have completed or be enrolled in an ACGME-accredited fellowship in neuroradiology, 3) board certification or board eligibility and 4) a license or eligibility to practice medicine in the states of Pennsylvania and New Jersey.
