  • Responsible for managing a range of maternal and gynecological health conditions, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, and ensuring comprehensive care for patients in a hospital setting.
  • Provide inpatient care for obstetric and gynecological patients, including managing labor and delivery, post-operative care, and general gynecological conditions.
  • Perform routine and emergent OB/GYN procedures, such as Cesarean sections, hysterectomies, and other necessary interventions.
  • Manage and monitor the care of patients admitted to the hospital for both medical and surgical OB/GYN conditions.
  • Work closely with nursing staff, specialists, and other healthcare providers to deliver coordinated and patient-centered care.
  • Monitor and manage high-risk pregnancies, including preterm labor, hypertension, and other complications.
  • Participate in patient rounds, conducting assessments, and providing treatment plans.
  • Provide consultation services for medical and surgical teams regarding obstetrical and gynecological conditions.
  • Ensure compliance with hospital protocols, safety regulations, and quality standards.
  • Document patient histories, examinations, diagnoses, and treatment plans accurately in the electronic health record (EHR).
  • Participate in on-call rotations for emergency OB/GYN care and other hospitalist-related duties.
  • Educate and counsel patients on health promotion, disease prevention, and treatment options.
  • Assist with teaching and mentoring medical students, residents, and other healthcare professionals.

Job Responsibilities

Responsibilities include delivery attendance, OB triage, patient evaluation/management, surgical assists, fetal monitoring and ER coverage
MFM performs rounds and inpatient consults with high risk patients
Practice attends about 60 deliveries per month
30-bed community Level-III NICU/newborns 23 weeks and above
Affiliated maternal-fetal medicine and neonatology practice support

Qualifications

Board Eligible (within 5 years of residency) or Board Certified in OB/GYN - REQUIRED
CA license (or willing to obtain) - REQUIRED
OB Hospitalist work experience - REQUIRED

Working Hours

24-hour in-house shifts. ~7-8 per month for full-time status. Will consider someone who wants to work a minimum of ~5.5 shifts/month.
