Job Responsibilities
-OBED (Obstetric Emergency Department)
-OB emergencies
-Operative delivery consults
-Additional unit coverage as needed (e.g., MFM, START, etc.)
-Perform C-sections and provide surgical backup for midwife teams.
-Teach and mentor fellows and residents in a hospital setting.
-Collaborate with OBGYN physicians, Certified Nurse Midwives (CNMs), and fellows on Labor & Delivery.
Clinic Duties:
-Provide direct patient care for obstetric and gynecological cases.
-Teach and mentor fellows and residents (for academic clinics).
-Manage individual and group inboxes.
-Complete clinical documentation of services.
-Conduct virtual visits and phone consultations.
-Perform minor procedures such as IUD placements/removals, Nexplanon insertions/removals, LEEPs, and colposcopies.
-Work closely with support staff, including Medical Assistants (MAs) and RNs.
Qualifications
-Minimum of one year of recent trauma-level experience.
-Proven experience in laborist duties, including high-volume deliveries.
-Strong surgical skills, including recent experience with:
-C-sections
-Laparoscopy
-Ectopic tubal surgeries
-Dilation & Curettage (D&C)
-Ability to work in a teaching environment with residents and fellows.
-Active and unrestricted medical license.
-Recent case logs (ideally from the last two years; at minimum, the last one year).
Working Hours
-24-hour in-house call shifts.
-Maximum of one consecutive 24-hour shift for safety reasons.
Clinic Schedule:
-Typically 3-5 days per week.
-Minimum of 7 shifts per month required for part-time candidates.
-Day, night, and weekend shifts available.
