• Start Date

  • As soon as credentialed - ongoing
  • Anticipated locums coverage for 6 months
  • Cover clinic and hospital locations

• Schedule

  • 1-2 clinic days per week
  • 24-hour in-house hospital call (1:6 schedule) - 8am-8am
  • 6 call shifts per month, 5-8 clinic shifts per month

• Clinical Details

  • Outpatient: 15-20 patients/day
  • Inpatient: Deliveries (45-55/month), with 25-30% C-section rate
  • No abortions or postpartum tubal ligations (except during C-sections)
  • Mix of outpatient clinic and hospital call responsibilities, laborist role
  • Patient Demographics: Mostly low-risk, underserved populations
  • NICU Level: III
  • Clinic: 3 suites with 2 exam rooms each
  • Average Deliveries/Day: Approximately 1.5/day
  • C-section Team: Provider must assist
  • Required to monitor patient if on Pitocin (or another medication to increase contractions) and will need to be onsite
  • OB hospitalists are required to be in hospital during entire call shift
  • Expectation to assist with GYN surgeries for any urgent OBGYN case that arises while on-call

• Requirements

  • Board Certified/Board Eligible
  • ACGME Accredited Residency
  • DEA, BLS, ACLS
  • CA State License
  • Clean Malpractice
  • Non-issued files/licenses only
  • Bilingual providers - Strongly Preferred
  • Local candidates - Preferred
  • Recent laborist experience training rather than mostly Gyn and aesthetics
  • Required Procedures: Vaginal deliveries, C-sections (assist required), Sterilizations, birth control, laparoscopic tubals

• Support Staff

  • Clinic: Full-time ultrasonographer with 30+ years of experience, 1 RN managing diabetic patients and NSTs
  • Hospital: Ultrasonographer and 24/7 anesthesia coverage (10 MDs)
