The OB/GYN Physician will provide professional medical services including planning, directing, and evaluating resident and employee health care in the Glendive Medical Center Gabert Clinic; examine and treat chronic and acute episodic illnesses, minor injuries, accidents, and other injuries/illnesses; performs selected laboratory testing; write prescriptions and perform office procedures within the scope of expertise, protocols, and available equipment. The Physician will also collaborate with a Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner in the care and treatment of patients. This position is a low volume call position with a one and two call rotation structure.

Job Responsibilities

Duties/Responsibilities:
•Treat patients and perform clinic procedures and physical examinations related to licensing and specialty.
• Examine new patients to orient them with services and identify patient needs and treatment plans.
• Maintain appropriate records (including business/medical records) relating to all professional services rendered and/or recommended.
• Responsible for the timely completion of documentation in patient records.
• Prepare and maintain all reports, claims, and correspondence necessary or appropriate to the performance of professional services.
• Attend professional conventions, post-graduate seminars, and continuing medical education programs to maintain and enhance Physician’s professional skill and participate in professional societies on a reasonable basis.
• Provide coverage when other physician employees at the facilities at which Physician practices are unavailable due to vacations, holidays, illness, or attendance at professional activities.
• Acts as a resource person for decisions, planning, and policies affecting the health of patients and staff.
• Collaborate with staff to identify patients' needs and to help develop plans to meet these needs.
• Serves as a member of committees dealing with health care.
• Perform other duties as assigned that are commensurate with professional services normally performed by physician.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:
• Successful completion of an accredited MD or DO program.
• Board Certified or Eligibility to become Board Certified.
• Must be currently licensed in the state of Montana.
• Two (2) years of experience preferred.

Physical Requirements:
• Able to lift 100 pounds to assist fallen residents.
• Able to lift 10 pounds for routine performance of essential functions.
• May be exposed to adverse indoor and outdoor environmental conditions, bloodborne pathogens, physical hazards (e.g., needle pricks, etc.) and chemical hazards.

Working Hours

This position will be scheduled to work Monday through Friday from 8am to 5pm with a half day allotted each week for administrative/charting time.
