Shifts: 12 hour shifts, with weekday and weekend availability

Seeking dedicated and experienced OBGYN Hospitalists to join our team on a locums basis. The role is focused on inpatient care, covering both obstetrics (OB) and gynecology (GYN) consults. Our hospitalist team provides care for inpatient OB and GYN patients, and collaborates with a multidisciplinary team, including midwives and physician assistants, to ensure the highest quality of care for our patients.

This is not a traditional laborist position but requires strong obstetrics expertise and occasional GYN coverage. The position requires flexibility for both full-time (144 hours/month) and part-time candidates, with weekday and weekend shifts available.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inpatient OB Care: Provide comprehensive care for patients on the OB floor, including labor and delivery, post-partum, and antepartum care.
  • GYN Consults: Provide inpatient gynecological consultations, including ER consults and floor consultations.
  • Collaborate with Care Team: Work closely with midwives, physician assistants (PAs), and nursing staff to provide the best possible care for OB and GYN patients.
  • Shifts and Hours:
    • 12-hour (7 am – 7 pm) and 24-hour shifts (7 am – 7 am) available.
  • Weekend shifts:
    • 6 am to 3 pm
      • 10 pm to 7 am
      • Maximum of 9 scheduled cases/day (3 cases on night shift, 6 cases on day shift).
      • Coverage of 12 LDR beds and 3 low-intervention rooms.
    • 2 pm to 11 pm
  • Patient Volume: A maximum of 9 scheduled patients per shift, plus unscheduled admissions (includes both OB and GYN patients).
  • No Outpatient Coverage: This is an inpatient hospitalist role only

Qualifications:

  • ABOG Board Certification: Must be Board Certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology (ABOG).
  • Availability:
    • Weekday availability required (days and nights).
    • Weekend shifts as outlined above.
  • Experience:
    • Previous hospitalist experience is preferred but not required.
    • Strong OB and GYN inpatient skills.
  • Credentialing Requirements: 90 days
