OBGYN opening in TN
Located in Sweetwater, Tennessee (Knoxville 45m; 184m Nashville)
Full-time; permanent position
Group is currently seeking a BC/BE OBGYN to join team. Currently, the OBGYN team includes two full-time physicians.
The clinic is on the 3rd floor of a medical building, but with a breezeway to the hospital, one can be with a patient there within a few minutes. An incoming provider can expect to have their own office, ample exam rooms, and access to a procedure room and ultrasound.
The appropriate support staff would be provided.
Schedule:
Since practices are physician-owned, one can determine the schedule and hours that one would practice. For an incoming physician, one can expect to see around 20-25 patients in the clinic per day, but does have the ability with support staff to see up to 40. The current OBGYN block time is Monday and Wednesday mornings for surgery. Typically, providers are working 4 days a week, but if one wants to do more, that can be accommodated.
For the practice, 70% of the patients are OB, 30% GYN with an average of 30 deliveries per month (350 last year), with 15-18% delivered via cesarean.
There is a Level II NICU with access to transfer patients to UT in Knoxville or the Children's hospital.
Call responsibilities include 1:3 weekday and weekend call. If it is your weekend, every effort is made to schedule so that you would only be responsible for 1 night during the week. A provider does not need to be in house when on call. One has access through their phone to access OB strip (plus documentation), so you can determine when you might return to the hospital. Since you do set your schedule, one can determine if they are flexing time the day following call.
The EMR system used in the hospital is Evident, but for the OBGYN patients one will use Philips IntelliVue.
