Locums – Santa Cruz, California, OB/GYN Hospitalist Job Clinical Role:

  • ASAP for 6 months
  • Site is anticipating needing locums coverage for 6 month
  • Providers Needed: 2
  • 1-2 clinic days/week
  • 24-hour in-house hospital call (6 calls per month, 1:6 schedule)
  • Clinic: 3 suites with 2 exam rooms each
  • Setting: Mix of outpatient clinic and inpatient hospital call
  • Outpatient: 15 - 20 patients/day
  • Inpatient: Deliveries (45-55/month), with 25-30% C-section rate (CNMs assist)
  • Shifts Per Month: 6 call shifts per month, 5-8 clinic shifts per month
  • Site will consider candidates only willing to do call. Call will still be in house. Laborist model
  • Required Procedures:
  • Vaginal deliveries
  • C-sections (assist required)
  • Sterilizations, birth control, laparoscopic tubals (at Santa Cruz Surgery Center)
  • No abortions or postpartum tubal ligations (except during C-sections)
  • EMR: Cerner
  • Clinic: Full-time ultrasonographer with 30+ years of experience, 1 RN managing diabetic patients and NSTs
  • Hospital: Ultrasonographer and 24/7 anesthesia coverage (10 MDs)
  • Reason for Coverage: Immediate need for locum assistance to maintain patient care
  • Board Certified – Required
  • Active CA License – Required
  • ACLS, BLS, DEA – Required
  • Average Deliveries/Day: Approximately 1.5/day (45-55/month)
  • Pitocin Monitoring: Yes
  • C-section Team: Provider must assist
