Location: Morehead, KY 40351
Contract Length: 1 Year

Shift: Standard M-F, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM (with On-Call)

  • Ideal Availability: 2-4 weeks of clinic and call coverage per month, with a minimum of 1 week per month. Flexibility in scheduling is available.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Clinic Coverage: Provide OB/GYN services including consults, wellness exams, cervical cancer screenings, contraceptive management, genetic counseling, and gynecologic surgeries.
  • Surgical Procedures: Perform full-scope OB/GYN procedures such as laparoscopies, hysterectomies, C-sections, cervical cerclages, D&Cs, and other gynecologic surgeries.
  • Delivery Care: Participate in labor and delivery, including handling emergencies, and performing deliveries (average 1 per 24-hour shift).
  • On-Call Coverage: Work 24-hour call shifts Monday to Friday, with additional weekend call. Average call volume: 1 delivery, 1 ED consult, 3-6 triages.
  • Patient Load: See approximately 20 patients per day in the clinic. Care for adolescents, adults, and geriatric populations, with a focus on low-income and Medicaid patients (approximately 60% Medicaid).
  • Support Staff: Work with APPs, midwives, medical assistants (MAs), and front desk/admin staff.

Qualifications:

  • Board Certification: Board Eligible or Board Certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology (BE/BC).
  • Licensure: Must have or be willing to obtain a Kentucky state license.
  • Certifications:
    • BLS (Basic Life Support) required
    • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) preferred
    • DEA registration required.
  • Experience: Minimum 1 year of OB/GYN experience required; 3-4 years of experience preferred. Experience working with low-income populations highly preferred.
  • Procedural Skills: Proficient in full-scope OB/GYN procedures, including deliveries, laparoscopies, hysterectomies, C-sections, and other common OB/GYN interventions.
  • EMR: Experience with Epic EMR preferred.

Work Details:

  • Practice Setting: Outpatient OB/GYN clinic.
  • Average Daily Census: 20 patients/day.
  • Procedures Performed: Full scope OB/GYN including in-office ultrasounds, health maintenance, hormone replacement therapy, and low- and high-risk obstetrics care.
  • Call Volume:
    • 1 delivery, 1 ED consult, 3-6 triages during a 24-hour call shift.
    • Weekend 24-hour call required.
  • Birth Volume: Approximately 300 births per year.

  • Patient Demographics: Majority of patients are from low-income and Medicaid populations.
  • Credentialing Timeframe: 3 months.
  • Facility Requirements: COVID-19 and flu vaccinations required.
