Location: A picturesque mountain town located in the northwest corner of Colorado. This town is renowned for its world-class skiing and snowboarding opportunities. Visitors can relax in the therapeutic waters of the local hot springs. The charming downtown area is filled with boutique shops, art galleries, and restaurants serving a variety of cuisines. About 157 miles to Denver!

Facility: A 39-bed acute care hospital providing sophisticated medical services to more than 51,000 outpatients annually.

Opportunity:
  • Looking for a locums OB/GYN to fill their need!
  • Schedule: Hospital - M-F Varies; Office/Clinic - 8a-5p M-F
  • Call Schedule: 1 in 4. Clinic days are 4 days per provider.
  • 24-Hour In-house: No
  • Call Back Percentage: Weekday - 80%; Weekend - 80%; OB - 80%; GYN - 20%
  • Provider will work 4 days in clinic and ~8 days of call per month. CNMs generally cover weekends as 1st call
  • Percentage of Practice: Low risk pregnancy - 50%; High risk pregnancy - 50%; C-Section - 20%; Office GYN - 35%; Surgical GYN - N/A
  • Response Time: 20 min
  • Average number of patients per physician per day: Clinic - 15-20
  • Average number of deliveries per physician per week: 6
  • Number of staff in the group: OB/GYN - 3; Mid-levels - 2; MFM/Perinatologists - virtual
  • Locum tenens physician is required to supervise other healthcare providers: YES, but not supervision but 2 certified nurse mid-wives when they take 1st call

  • Required Procedures:
    • Obstetrics:
    1. Low risk pregnancy – Pt’s with pre-existing problems, history of twins, history of toxemia, pyelonephritis, hyperemesis,etc.
    2. High risk pregnancy – Pt.’s with toxemia, diabetes, Class II or higher cardiacs, chronic lung problems, chronic renal disease, etc.
    3. FHR interpretation – NST/CST/FSE
    4. OB ultrasounds – Performance of Interpretation (Level I/screening (viability)
    • Labor and Delivery:
    1. Routine delivery –Vaginal, low forceps, decision-making for C-section
    2. Complicated delivery –C-section, breech, multiple births, abruptions, etc.
    3. Repair of 3rd & 4th degree lacerations
    • Gynecology:
    1. Office/minor gynecology –IUD, Cystoscopy, colposcopy, cryosurgery, LEEP, etc.
    2. Surgical gynecology *– open
    3. laparoscopic diagnostic/minor only –tubal ligation, LOA’s, chromal tubation
    4. operative/major (includes diagnostic) – ectopic pregnancy, ovary removal, cystectomy, extensive LOA’s
