OBGYN Laborist opening in Birmingham, AL - Full or Part-time, permanent position - Schedule: 12-hour shifts, Combination of Days / Nights - Practice Detail: Physician-driven, employed OB Laborist program managing labor, OB ED, and Gyn emergencies. - EMR System: Cerner - Visa Eligibility: None - Looking for a Board Certified/Board Eligible OB/GYN Physician for our Laborist OB Hospitalist Department Position Highlights: - Experienced (at least 5 years) team player who communicates well with private-practice physicians - Supportive and collegial OB/GYN physicians - Excellent back up from very collegial groups of independent physicians - Outstanding subspecialty support including level III NICU and MFM on-site - 24-hour anesthesia support - 3,580 deliveries last year and tracking over 4,000 this year - Employed by financially sound health system - Competitive pay - Part-time schedule allows for excellent work-life balance - Medical malpractice insurance - Excellent payor mix Responsibilities: - Evaluates and treats patients with appropriate medical diagnostic and treatment skills. - Recommends, participates in, and works to ensure the success of efforts to improve cost effectiveness and quality of care provided to patients. - Accepts patient referrals from other physicians. Acts as admitting, attending and/or consulting physician for patients who require hospitalization for primary medical diagnoses, depending on needs of patients, medical staff and hospital. - Participates in academic programs (e.g. medical education and research) as requested. - Provides appropriate documentation that meets insurance company requirements; appeal all denials in a timely manner. - Participates in inpatient consultation for specialty, which may include on call schedules.
