Locums – Terre Haute, Indiana, OB/GYN Hospitalist Opening Clinical Role:
    • Do you know someone that might be a good fit for this position? Please ask about our generous referral fees!
    • Open Dates:
      • November 18th at 7 am until November 25th at 7 am (OPEN)
      • December 23rd at 7 am until December 30th at 7 am (OPEN)
    • 14 days/month availability
    • 24 hour call coverage; covering our L&D and our ER departments
    • Monthly Coverage Requirements : Based on maternal level designation, the facility must maintain 24/7 obstetrics ER call coverage
    • Staff Support : RN, PCT, no midwives
    • Special Certifications or Requirements : OB call coverage for facility -- Preference would be to a provider with an Indiana license already in place
    • If the 24 hr is done inhouse or if they take call from nearby hotel: It can be done from a nearby hotel. Our providers don’t stay in house
    • Practice EMR: Meditech
    • Board Certified/Board Eligible – Required
    • FMLA coverage
    • Daily patient volume 3
    • The volume would be anything OB/GYN that comes to the hospital. We only employ one OB/GYN, hence the low volume. Our competitor employs 6 OB/GYN physicians so they have the market share and monopoly of OB/GYN care in our community. Some of the deliveries are unassigned
    • 24 months of Case Logs
    • OB emergency call coverage has been managed by 2. Informed admin Feb 26 that is no longer available in covering OB emergency call starting March 1, thus leaving other physician to assume 100% of the burden potential. PSG and CEO are discussing how much call can manage per month
    • Without consistent OB emergency call coverage there is a requirement from the State Department of Health to report lapse of OB coverage to the State of Indiana, which could impact State Disproportional Share (DSH) funding and/or loss of level of maternal care designation
    • Locum tenens staffing is the remaining coverage option to maintain Level II maternal designation and to compliment physician to manage OB emergency call coverage
    • Level II NICU and perinatal services with 7 fully equipped birthing suites, 11 private mother/baby postpartum rooms, 2 OB-specific ORs (in addition to our 9 main ORs), a modern safety and security system, and educational services for our patients
    • 24-hour in-house anesthesia coverage
    • Family-centered approach to provide patients with the highest quality care
    • Monthly delivery number: 10-12
    • Coverage for the entire hospital for L&D and ER but we only have one employed OB/GYN physician. Our competitor has 6, so most of the volume goes to Hospital
