UVA Community Health

Warrenton, Virginia

OBGYN

Whether our patients have just entered puberty or are preparing to give birth, we provide reliable care for all of their reproductive health needs. UVA Obstetrics and Gynecology Warrenton, offers expertise care in a comfortable environment. Our providers offer gynecologic services such as Pap tests and pelvic exams, we take the time with our patients to discuss personal wellness goals and plans for the future, which might include family planning. We also understand the patience and help our patients need in understanding the changes their bodies go through before and after menopause.

UVA Obstetrics and Gynecology of Warrenton is seeking a full time OBGYN to provide general care as part of our group practice. A typical office day is 18-20 patients. OB coverage is by a group model where the physicians share call equally. The on-call physician is responsible for all Labor and Delivery, postpartum care, ER consults and emergent gynecologic surgical procedures during their 24-hour call shift. No office patients are scheduled for on-call days. Post-call day is off. OR block time is shared, with each physician having access to block time three days per month and more if needed based on surgical volume. Gynecological surgeries include hysteroscopy, laparoscopy and hysterectomy. Our providers are averaging three deliveries per 24-hour shift, see 5-10 postpartum patients for rounds with some support from our nurse practitioners.

We offer NST, colposcope and ultrasounds in clinic and have access to DaVinci robot and 24-hour in-house anesthesia at Prince William Medical Center, which also has a Level 3 NICU and support from Critical Care medicine and interventional radiology.

Our practice setup allows for a better work-life balance compared to many other full scope obgyn jobs. The on-call physician covers all L&D patients for the day, so the physician's seeing patients in the office do not need to leave the office for inpatient responsibilities. The office schedule allows time to complete the visit and documentation without needing to take work home. We have a generous PTO policy. Our group is a great team and willing to help each other out when unexpected life events happen.

Our practice has the advantages of a smaller community hospital (get to know the nursing staff really well, consultants are collegial, free close parking lot) while also having access to subspecialty care through UVA. In particular, we have strong MFM support from UVA- provide ultrasound reads, consults for high-risk patients, and are available for our questions

Qualifications:

  • Board Eligible/Board Certified OBGYN
  • A physician that is passionate about women's health, works well in a team, and wants to establish ties with the community
