Assignment:

· Shift times 8a-8a

Setting: Ambulatory Clinic for office visits/procedures and Hospital OP and IP for surgeries, call and deliveries

FTE: 1.0

# Providers Needed: 2

Duties: full scope OBGYN in the clinic and hospital setting

Required Procedures: Usual and customary for an OBGYN practice

EMR: Cerner

Patients per Day: 20-24

Support Staff: dedicated MA

Worksite Resources: 2 other FT OBGYN physicians and APP support

Reason for Coverage: currently recruiting for open positions, but we need coverage in the meantime in order to ensure access is provided for patients and hospital call responsibilities are covered.

Deal Breakers? Unable or unwilling to take hospital call

Credentialing Information:

Timeframe: 90-120 days

Can issue Emergency Credentials: file must be clear, vendor has to send complete packets (no piece mail) CA DEA


Additional Questions:

Patient Volume? Number of deliveries? 38-40 per month for the department

What is your NICU level? We transfer if necessary (Level I only)

Any high-risk patients? Where do they ship if they don’t have high-risk? Yes, advanced maternal age, gestational diabetes; shipped to Dignity-affiliated hospitals in Sacramento (generally Mercy San Juan)

Do they utilize Midwives? No

Any case Logs requirements for C-Sections or deliveries? Yes

What is the minimum avail you will accept? .8 FTE in the clinic, 1 weekend call per month

What does orientation/training look like? There is a robust orientation/on-boarding process which includes EHR training and orienting the individuals to our polices/procedures.

Is there in-house anes? MFM support? Anesthesia shared with general surgery, not necessarily in-house. MFM consultation readily available from Mercy Medical Group in Sacramento.

Is this in house call and does it include L&D admitting and rounding? Call includes L&D admitting and rounding. Strictly speaking the physician could take call from home if they lived or stayed close to the hospital; practically speaking, especially with patients spending hours in labor, it might be easier to just stay in-house.

Qualifications

Board Certified/Board Eligible - REQUIRED
CA License - REQUIRED
Fellowship Trained(OB/GYN) - REQUIRED
BLS and DEA - REQUIRED
NRP and ACLS - Highly preferred

Clean Malpractice - Clean strongly preferred; will otherwise consider on case-by-case basis (this could delay hospital privileging)
