**OB Medical Director Opportunity - Mansfield, OH**
**Position Overview**
As the OB Medical Director, you will provide strategic leadership and direction in all medical matters to ensure the delivery of high-quality, comprehensive healthcare services to our community. You will oversee clinical operations, medical staff, and programs while collaborating with the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) and Chief Clinical Officer (CCO) to achieve the organizations mission and goals.
**Position Duties**
- Provide visionary leadership in developing and implementing medical strategies aligned with the organizations mission, vision, and values.
- Collaborate with the executive team to establish goals, policies, and procedures that support quality healthcare services.
- Stay informed about industry trends, best practices, and regulatory changes to guide strategic decisions.
- Clinical Oversight and Quality Improvement:
- Ensure the delivery of evidence-based, culturally competent medical care to patients.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes, safety, and satisfaction.
- Monitor clinical performance metrics and outcomes to identify areas for improvement and drive excellence.
Medical Staff Management:
- Recruit, onboard, and retain qualified medical professionals, including physicians, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants.
- Provide leadership, mentorship, and support to medical staff, fostering a collaborative and positive work environment.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations, provide feedback, and implement professional development opportunities.
Physician Duties:
- Provide OB/GYN services within the clinic and at Ohio Health Mansfield Hospital.
- Maintain required patient visits annually and provide on-call coverage at OhioHealth.
- Actively collaborate with and supervise other healthcare providers, including Nurse Practitioners and Nurse Midwives.
- Maintain all required licensures, certifications, and knowledge to meet patient needs and comply with standards.
- Participate in peer review audits and be available for consultation as needed.
Regulatory Compliance and Risk Management:
- Ensure compliance with all relevant federal, state, and local regulations, as well as accreditation standards.
- Collaborate with the CMO, CCO, and legal counsel to develop and implement policies that promote patient safety and manage clinical risks.
Supervisory Duties:
- Supervise OB providers, including MDs, Womens Health Nurse Practitioners, and Certified Nurse Midwives.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Comprehensive knowledge of services, community resources, and effective communication strategies.
- Strong leadership abilities, including conflict resolution, coaching, and mentoring skills.
- Ability to develop trust and effective working relationships with staff, patients, and external professionals.
**Position Requirements**
- Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution.
- Board certification in Obstetrics and Gynecology (OB/GYN).
- Active, unrestricted medical license in Ohio.
- Privileging with OhioHealth hospital.
- Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in OB/GYN, including leadership or management roles.
- Demonstrated commitment to womens health, reproductive justice, and health equity.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Experience working in a community clinic or safety-net healthcare organization preferred.
Environmental & Physical Requirements:
- Mobility to move independently and safely throughout the workplace.
- Manual dexterity for writing, typing, and handling paperwork.
- Adequate vision and hearing abilities to communicate effectively.
- Ability to sustain a seated or standing position for extended periods.
