Locums – Frederick, Maryland, OB/GYN Hospitalist Openings
Clinical Role:
-

- Shifts per block needed to be filled by agency: 8, 24hr shifts
- Expected timeframe for need: ASAP
- Root cause for opening req: New Program Start / Ramp
- EMR used: Meditech
- Expected patients per day: 6 deliveries, plus 4-34 triage patients per day
- Current Hospitalist role: to take care of the Frederick Prenatal clinic patients, undoctored patients both in L&D and the ED. Circumcision for these patients as well.
- Estimated 0-10 max patient encounters/24-hour period- encompassing labor, delivery, triage, ED.
- All pregnant patients of any gestational age presenting to ED must be discussed with an Ob/gyn even if the ED doctor feels comfortable treating the patient and discharging the patient
- Currently hospitalist is reached by an old-fashioned beeper…the medicine hospitalists use either cell phones or Backline texting service (I suggest we d/w hospital if cell service is ok then using a direct call cell would be preferred for physical satisfaction)
- Will the site accept board eligible providers (assuming they’ve passed the first part of exams) or only board-certified providers? Have not had my meeting with MSO yet
- Is COVID vaccine required, or will the site allow exemption requests? Have not had my meeting with MSO yet
- Is Temp Labor in place? Deadline? In current PSA draft; None as of right now

- FT Triage
- Annual Hospital Encounters: 4,685
- Hospital Annual Deliveries: 2,424
- MFM onsite? They come for consults – offsite typically
- Residency Program & Type: None
- In-house Anesthesia? 24/7 In-house for OB. Main or anesthesia and scrub team needs to be called in after hours. Needs 30 minutes to arrive
- Hospitalists to Provide GYN Coverage: Yes – Emergent
- First Assist Available to the Hospitalists: Yes
- Hospitalists to Backup Midwives: No
- Hospitalists to Backup Family Practice: No
- No oversite of CNM or FP
- Credentialing approx. 60 days, can grant temps
