Locums – Berlin, Vermont, OB/GYN Opening

- Needs an OB/GYN for coverage
- Description of Work Assignment : Primarily Call coverage for patient phone calls, labor and delivery, emergency department; clinic with antepartum and urgent visits. Midwife takes first call about 50% of time
- On site clinic, emergency department and operating room
- Schedule of Days/Times Needed To Work/ Shift Hours: Clinic is 8-5; call coverage shifts are typically 24 hours at a time during the week; 48-72 hours on weekend. Looking for primarily call support, with lightly scheduled clinic during day in order to allow room for urgent needs
- On call: Typically 24 hours on/ 24 hours off during the week – volume is low so could do longer stretches with CNM support. 48-72 hour weekend shift
- Procedures Provider Will Be REQUIRED To Perform: Spontaneous and operative vaginal delivery, cesarean
- Procedures Preferred: Laparoscopy, hysteroscopy, D&C
- Anticipated Procedures/Surgeries per Week: 1-5
- Patient Load: 16 patients per day in clinic, 20-30 births/month
- No Particular Fellowship
- Board Status Requirement (BC/BE): BC/BE
- Certifications Required – NRP
- APP’s first assist, general surgery on call
- Additional support staff: RN’s, LNA’s, ED, hospitalist, anesthesia, and pediatric staff
- We are a team of 4 ob/gyn’s, 2 CNMs, a family med doc and 2 NP’s. Seeking locums support for vacation and maternity leave. The locum will overlap with any of these team members
- Mid levels: Yes; it’s a collaborative practice; we have two skilled midwives and two skilled WHNP’s
- EMR System: EPIC
- Clinic EMR is not different from the hospital EMR
- Expectations of the Physician Culturally? Collaboration with APP’s and RN’s. Communication with anesthesia, pediatric, surgery and nursing teams for situational awareness of limited rural resources
- Virtual Interviews Preferred with phone interviews as a back up option
- We could arrange coverage in weekend or week-long blocks, or longer; anticipate revolving need until December 2024
