OB/GYN Hospitalist Opportunity

The Location:

Clara Maass Medical Center (CMMC) sees approximately 1,800 annual deliveries. In the recovery unit, patients can labor, deliver and recover in one of six contemporary suites. Complicated deliveries and cesarean births happen in one of two operating suites, also located within the LDR wing. Patients stay in private postpartum rooms post-LDR. In addition to the Newborn Nursery, Clara Maass Medical Center maintains a Level II NICU for premature newborns born at 32 weeks or greater, and newborns in need of specialized medical treatment. Neonatologists are available 24 hours a day. CMMC's liberal visitation policy encourages families to share special time with their newborns. The Medical Center hosts a number of classes for new moms and families that include Prepared Childbirth, Weekend Childbirth Series, Sibling Class, Breastfeeding and Baby Shower Infant Class.

A day in the life includes:
  • Caring for all pregnant women who present emergently, regardless of circumstance
  • Cultivating relationships with staff nurses and hospital personnel
  • Supporting private practice physicians by providing coverage and assistance
  • Caring for unassigned patients
  • Evaluating and treating triage patients
  • Providing consultation to the ED
  • Monitoring labor
  • Delivering babies
  • Performing surgery and surgical assists
  • Evaluating and treating postpartum patients
  • Providing nurse support and education
