Join a team that’s Changing What’s Possible – The Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) is seeking a board-certified or board-eligible Obstetrics & Gynecology clinician-educator to become part of their expanding department in the vibrant city of Charleston, SC. The selected candidate will have a pivotal role in educating the next generation of physician leaders while enhancing access to specialized care for high-risk OB/GYN patients in Charleston and the surrounding regions.
With more than 40 physicians and researchers focused on Women’s Health who provide care in the Lowcountry, MUSC Health is proud to have earned U.S. News & World Report 2023 – 2024 national ranking as one of the top 20 hospitals for Obstetrics & Gynecology.
In 2020, MUSC Children’s Health opened the Shawn Jenkins Children’s Hospital and Pearl Tourville Women’s Pavilion, a 100,000 square foot, 250-bed, state-of-the-art building that is transforming the delivery of fetal, women’s and children’s care in the region. Supporting the outstanding clinical care at our Children’s Hospital and Women’s Pavilion is the Charles P. Darby Children’s Research Institute, the largest pediatric research facility in the Carolinas, and one of only 15 like it in the country.
We are seeking candidates with:
- Completed an accredited Obstetrics and Gynecology Residency/Fellowship
- Board Certified or Eligible in Obstetrics and Gynecology
- Demonstrate a commitment to teaching, excellent communication skills, and a strong interest in academics.

- Engage in the education and training of medical students, residents, and fellows, shaping the next generation of OB/GYN specialists.
- Join a supportive and collaborative department with over 50 physicians, advanced practice providers (APPs), and dedicated support staff.
- Enjoy a customizable clinic schedule tailored to your preferences and professional needs.
- Provide a dedicated one-day/month coverage at our Labor & Delivery unit
- Approximately four weeks of inpatient coverage annually
- Provide OR two times/month for GYN surgery cases including robotic time for those credentialed in robotics. Supported by subspecialists in GYN Oncology, Urogynecology and REI.
- Participate in a flexible call system shared within the department, promoting work-life balance.
