**OB/GYN opening in Maine** J1/H1b Eligible **Position Details:** - Located in Caribou - Northern Maine, near Canadian border, 200mi from Bangor, ME - Full-time, permanent positions - Successful candidate will join two OB/GYNs, and two Certified Nurse Midwives in providing compassionate, high-quality care to obstetrical and gynecological patients drawn from multiple communities. - Status: Full-time: 40 - 45 hours/week, including operating room time - Patients: Community profile includes a sizeable population of women for whom gynecological surgical procedures and urodynamic testing are becoming increasingly important. - On-Call Rotation: 1:3 - The leader of deliveries, north of Bangor Maine, with over 200 deliveries annually - High-risk mothers and neonates are referred for delivery to Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor. -The Health Center is located downstairs from the Medical Center, providing inside access within minutes to the labor/delivery/postpartum unit of the hospital. - OB unit and team are award winning and have a well-earned reputation as the warmest, friendliest and most desirable place to deliver babies north of Bangor. - For the 5th year, Health Group earned the 2018 Womens Choice Award as one of Americas Best Hospitals for Patient Experience. - Specialists available include urology, orthopedic and general surgery, and ophthalmology. - Access to outpatient clinics including diabetes counseling and nutritional therapy - Provide high quality, compassionate and efficient outpatient and inpatient care. - Candidate will be able to work closely and effectively with mid- level providers, be able to participate in marketing the OB/Gyn programs to increase volumes and be interested in continuing to advance the use of technology and techniques in gynecologicalsurgical care. **Qualifications** - Board Certified or board eligible - Allopathic and osteopathic physicians will be considered equally - American born and trained physicians and foreign-born physicians who have completed a US residency and/or fellowship will be considered equally. - H-1B and J-1 visa candidates will be considered - In-practice physicians, residents or fellows, and military-trained physicians will be considered equally **About The Health System:** - Physician practice management organization with 30 physicians and 26 mid-level providers. The health system's northern Maine locations include Caribou (3 offices), Presque Isle, Washburn, Fort Fairfield and Van Buren. In the Fall of 2007, the practice was designated as a Federally Qualified Health Center, providing enhanced access to health care services for all members of the community, and allowing the practice to employ providers holding H-1B and J-1 visas. In 2016, The Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) awarded the health system for Oral Health expansion. The medical center family includes approximately 540 employees, 60 active medical staff providers, 100 courtesy and consulting physicians, and **Multi-Specialty Characteristics:** - 6 Internists (including 5 Hospitalists) and 8 Family Medicine physicians in the group. - Hospitalists provide 24/7 inpatient coverage, including weekends, at Medical Center - 9 mid-level primary care providers in Presque Isle, Fort Fairfield, Van Buren and Caribou, as well as 2 Certified Midwives who work in our OB/GYN practice - A telephone triage system to screen after-hours calls. - Specialists available in Caribou offices include urology, orthopedics and sports medicine, surgical podiatry and wound care, general surgery, ophthalmology, and hematology/oncology. Pathologists work at Medical Centers clinical laboratory.-~ Access to Medical Center's outpatient clinics including Cardiology, Pain Management, Nephrology, Pediatric Cardiology, Pediatric Nephrology, Pediatric Gastroenterology, Pediatric Genetics, Wound/Ostomy and Rheumatology, along with diabetes counseling and nutritional therapy (delivered at Health Center in Caribou). - Expectations grow the practice resulting from retirees and families moving into the area, support the growth of local industry, including the Defense Financing and Accounting Service (DFAS), and an influx in the number of U.S. Homeland Security (Customs and Border Patrol) officers.
