We are hiring for a Nocturnist physician position. A Nocturnist role requires working exclusively overnight shifts. Candidates must be comfortable with a nocturnal schedule and possess the ability to deliver exceptional patient care during nighttime hours.
People First in Port Huron
Local Team Collaboration:
- We are seeking a nocturnist to join our friendly, fun-loving, well-established team of five physicians and one advanced practice provider (APP). We have two physicians from seven am to seven pm, and on high-volume days, we have one additional APP from seven am to seven pm. We have one nocturnist physician from seven pm to seven am.
- We take pride in our active engagement within the hospital community, collaborating with leaders, managers, and staff to elevate the quality of patient care. With a footprint in 11 committees, we are consistently the first to volunteer for quality improvement initiatives. Our multidisciplinary approach lays a robust foundation for patient-centered, high-quality care.
- We have monthly team meetings. Our medical director hosts individual feedback sessions monthly to quarterly, depending on each clinician’s needs.
Qualifications:
- Board certified/eligible internal medicine or family medicine trained physicians.
- Authorization to work in the U.S. (Sound offers visa sponsorship for qualified candidates).
- We proudly sponsor H1B and J1-Visa candidates through HHS and provide in-house visa specialists, licensing, and credentialing support. All required filing fees for the visa are covered by Sound.
Practice in the Heart of the Community
Scheduling:
- We generally keep to a seven on/off schedule with some flexibility around holidays and family needs. We work together to ensure that shifts are covered in a way that preserves each other’s work-life balance.
Key Responsibilities:
- The Nocturnist at McLaren Port Huron in Port Huron, Michigan works independently.
- Open ICU with no procedural requirements.
- Our team responds to all adult code blue and rapid-response events in the hospital. We have strong specialty support, including pulmonary, cardiology, nephrology, infectious disease, and neurology, as well as a host of surgical/procedural services. The hospital offers complex cardiac procedures, including open-heart and TAVR.
