Job Summary
Job Description
To prospective teammates,
I’m the medical director for Sound’s hospitalist practice at MultiCare Allenmore Hospital in Tacoma, Washington. I have been a part of Sound for two years and welcome interest from physicians and advanced practice providers coming out of training or desiring a career change. I’d like to share more about it, specifically about our people, practice, and purpose, as you consider your options:
People
- We are a closely knit, established team of eight physicians and four advanced practice providers, with the support of a clinical performance nurse.
- Our group of physicians and APPs is diverse, with various training and experience backgrounds.
- Team members are required to have some level of stewardship and involvement in committees, the hospital, and Sound Physicians’ objectives.
- We enjoy gathering within the facility and occasionally outside the hospital for various activities.
- We proudly sponsor H1B and J1 visa candidates, and Sound has excellent in-house visa specialists and our licensing and credentialing experts. All required filing fees for the visa are paid, and services are covered by Sound.
Practice
- We welcome the challenge of complex cases, working in an open ICU with 24/7 intensivist critical care coverage for backup and daily rounding during the day and available by phone at night (our team is not expected to do procedures). We do respond to codes and rapid response.
- Our team hosts monthly gatherings, informative lunch and learn sessions, and celebratory occasions to foster a positive and collaborative work environment!
- Most of us like to spend time with our families or outdoors, so a flexible schedule is available, and we cover for each other when we’re out.
- Salary ranges from $341k – $365k, depending on experience.
- Benefits include medical, dental, vision, life, and AD&D insurance, long- and short-term disability, 401k with match, paid medical malpractice and tail coverage, and annual CME allowance.
Purpose
- We put patients first. Always.
- Growth and development are key features of Sound’s practices, where teammates can expand their careers here locally and within the broader medical group.
- We’re a community-minded team and encourage our team members who want to contribute in and out of the hospital to help make our local community thrive.
