As Sound’s medical director at Piedmont Macon, I oversee a team of eighteen highly experienced physicians and two advanced practice providers (APPs). We proudly collaborate with our hospital’s internal medicine residency program, with four of our hospitalists choosing to continue here after their residencies, reflecting our strong work ethic and teamwork.

People
- The team is comprised of 18 physicians and two advanced practice providers.
- We have a diverse team with clinicians from various backgrounds who collaborate and learn from each other.
- We collaborate with other hospital departments to ensure seamless care transitions and actively participate in community health initiatives.
- Macon offers rich cultural scene, artistic activities, and beautiful natural surroundings that cater to diverse interests, including arts and outdoor pursuits like biking and hiking.
- Our program offers J1-visa sponsorship through the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
Practice
- Our hospital has a closed ICU with 30 beds. We don’t require any procedures.
- We welcome board-certified/eligible candidates, including internal and family medicine physicians.
- Our hospitalist team is trained in basic life support and advanced cardiovascular life support, participating in rapid response and code teams.
- We use EPIC and have access to Sound’s informatics platform.
- Compensation ranges from $294,000 to $330,000 per year.
