I’m the medical director for Sound’s hospital medicine practice at St. Michael Medical Center in Silverdale, WA. I have been a part of Sound for nine years and welcome interest from physicians coming out of training or desiring a career change. I want to share more about it, specifically about our people, practice, and purpose, as you consider your next steps:

People

• We are a closely-knit, established team of 23 physicians and 2 nurse practitioners.
• Our team comprises clinicians from diverse geographic, educational, and training backgrounds who lean on and learn from each other in their approach to patient care.
• Our physicians and NPs are heavily involved in hospital committees, medical staff meetings, and training of family medicine residents.
• Our team members have diverse interests, including skiing, hiking, cricket, tennis, and painting, and we often meet after work.
• We proudly sponsor J1 waiver & H1b visa candidates, and Sound has excellent in-house visa specialists and our licensing and credentialing experts. All required filing fees for the visa are paid, and services are covered by Sound.
• For this nocturnist opening, we are focused on candidates available in 2024

Practice

• We work in a closed ICU setting with full intensivist support. Our team is not required to do procedures or run codes.
• We have lunch and learn every Wednesday and a monthly team meeting.
• Most of us like to spend time with our families or outdoors, so a flexible schedule is available, and we cover for each other when we’re out.
• Expected yearly compensation is competitive at over $280K for full-time.
• Benefits include medical, dental, vision, life and AD&D insurance, long- and short-term disability, 401k with match, paid medical malpractice and tail coverage, and annual CME allowance.
