Position Summary:
The Department of Neurology at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center El Paso (TTUHSC El Paso) is seeking a Neuro-Critical Care Physician to provide inpatient and outpatient neurology services, including the management of critically ill neurological patients and stroke consults. This faculty position includes active participation in resident and medical student education, research, and institutional governance.

The selected candidate will play a key role in enhancing the neurology program at TTUHSC El Paso and its affiliated teaching hospitals, which serve a medically underserved, predominantly Hispanic population in the U.S.-Mexico border region. The position offers a unique opportunity to practice academic medicine while making a meaningful impact on a diverse patient population.

Key Responsibilities:
• Provide comprehensive inpatient and outpatient neurology care at the Neurology Outpatient Clinic and affiliated hospitals.
• Manage critically ill neurological patients and stroke consults at designated hospital sites.
• Supervise and mentor neurology residents and medical students, including oversight of resident-run clinics and didactic teaching.
• Engage in scientific research and scholarly activities that contribute to the advancement of neuro-critical care.
• Actively participate in institutional governance, including committee work and administrative responsibilities.
• Contribute to the local community through academically-related public service initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA and medical billing regulations.
• Uphold institutional and departmental policies, demonstrating professionalism aligned with the Paul L. Foster School of Medicine’s Declaration of Faculty Professional Responsibility.

Required Qualifications:
• M.D. or D.O. degree from an accredited institution.
• Completion of an ACGME-accredited Neurology Residency Program.
• Completion of an ACGME- or UCNS-accredited Neuro-Critical Care Fellowship Program in the U.S.
• Board Certification in Neurology by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN).
• Eligible for medical licensure in Texas (or currently licensed in Texas).

Preferred Qualifications:
• Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English, given the patient population.
• Regional or emerging national recognition in neuro-critical care (for consideration at the rank of Associate Professor or higher).
• Experience in resident and medical student education with a strong commitment to academic medicine.
