Job Description
Job Title: Locum Physician - Traumatic Brain Injury/General Medicine
Facility and Practice Overview
We are seeking dedicated physicians to perform a combination of General Medicine and Traumatic Brain Injury exams within a facility dedicated to serving our nation's Veterans. This opportunity is available in Amherst, Massachusetts, with the flexibility of scheduling one day per week. Our practice offers a supportive environment where your expertise will contribute to valuable assessments that aid in the health and well-being of Veterans.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct non-treatment Compensation and Pension (C&P) exams and separation health assessments.
- Perform interview-based evaluations with some physical assessments, including range of motion and muscle strength testing.
- Complete evaluations primarily focused on General Medicine and Traumatic Brain Injury cases.
- Document findings and submit Reporting/Disability Benefits Questionnaires (DBQs) within 48 hours of the exam completion.
- Handle administrative work, including addendums, medical opinions, and reading diagnostics.
- Utilize a personal laptop for electronic documentation (NO MACs).
- Participate in required training and orientation sessions.
Qualifications
- Board Certified in Neurology, Neurosurgery, or Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R).
- Active and unrestricted medical license in Massachusetts.
- Experience evaluating and diagnosing respiratory, cardiovascular, and neurological conditions.
- Proficient in METs testing and familiar with musculoskeletal, diabetes, and cardio assessments.
- Must indicate availability for a PRN schedule and potential travel for additional cases.
- Current CV with home address included for presentation purposes.
License and Certification Requirements
- Board Certification is mandatory.
- Full, unrestricted medical license in Massachusetts.
- Willingness to complete DMA training to achieve DMA certification.
- For international medical graduates, possession of ECFMG certificate is required.
