Key Responsibilities:

• Provide 24-hour on-call coverage for 3 hospitals in system.
• Inpatient coverage: Must physically see all inpatients at all 3 sites, including weekends and nights.
• EEG review: Remote monitoring of EEGs is required (essential for the role).
• No daytime outpatient clinic.
• Provide Epilepsy consultation and care, including emergency interventions for inpatient cases.
• Potential for trauma-related cases (e.g., gunshot wounds, hypothermia) at Level II trauma center.
• Work alongside other neurologists and 3 advanced practice providers.
• Hospital-based practice, no rehab or sleep-related cases.
• Average of 8 hospital-based patients per day.

Required Qualifications:

• Board Certified or Board Trained in Epileptology (required, no exceptions)
• Ohio state medical license (required, no exceptions – not accepting IMLC)
• BLS certification (required)
• COVID vaccinated (required)
• Clean background with no malpractice claims (required)
• Must be available for the specified dates (credentialing takes at least 120 days):
  • April 2-13, 2025
  • June 30 - July 6, 2025
  • July 21-27, 2025
  • Ongoing availability

Facility Overview:

• Practice Setting: Inpatient, hospital-based, with some outpatient EEG review.
• Patient Breakdown:
  • Adult: 90%
  • Pediatric (16+): 10%
  • Trauma-related cases: Dependent on the day, providers may encounter trauma cases (e.g., GSW, hypothermia) at Level II trauma center.
  • Inpatient: 95% of cases are inpatient, with no outpatient clinic responsibilities.
• Hospital Coverage: 3 hospitals with a maximum of 8 patients per day.
• EMR: Epic system.
• Onsite labs and X-ray available.
