Academic Neurologist – Sleep Medicine

The Department of Neurology at the University of Missouri – Columbia is seeking a full-time Sleep Neurologist at the level of Assistant Professor/Associate Professor or Professor to join our vibrant and growing practice. Join four additional Sleep Neurologists, two of whom are part-time, as we are looking to expand our clinical offerings and potential research opportunities. Become a part of our Sleep Medicine Program with opportunity to participate in education of Sleep Medicine fellows, Neurology residents, and medical students.
Our sleep disorders center and the Sleep Medicine fellowship program are fully accredited by AASM and ACGME). Additionally, we have strong collaborations with other related subspecialties including Child Health, Psychology, Pulmonary Medicine and ENT. Sleep Medicine also has a strong federally funded research program focused on Mechanisms of Sleep

About MU Neurology:
MU Department of Neurology has 30+ neurologists and neuroscientists and offers comprehensive and multidisciplinary care in areas such as epilepsy, sleep disorders, movement disorders, neuromuscular diseases, comprehensive cerebrovascular disease, neurological intensive critical care, and headache. In addition, we have expertise in various subspecialty areas, including pediatric neurology, neuro-ophthalmology, neuropathology, neuro-rehab, and multiple sclerosis.
Details:

  • Completion of an ACGME accredited fellowship in Sleep Medicine and residency in Neurology is required.
  • Night call only for the Sleep Lab
  • Practice Schedule M-F 8 AM-5 PM
  • Opportunities to assist in the department's growth, the education of medical students and residents, and pursuit of other academic/research interests.
  • Leadership positions may be available in Sleep and in Neurology
  • All ranks available commensurate with experience
  • Non-tenure track

  • A dedicated 28-bed Neurosciences Center with 6 bed EMU
  • 30-bed Neurosciences ICU
  • AANEM Lab Accreditation with Exemplary Status
  • NAEC Level IV Epilepsy program
  • DNV-Certified Comprehensive Stroke Center
  • Certified MDA/ALS clinics
  • An AASM accredited Sleep Disorders Center and ACGME accredited Sleep Medicine fellowship program
  • Outpatient infusion center
Our academic programs include a neurology residency program and the following six accredited neurology fellowship programs:

  • Endovascular Surgical Neuroradiology (dual UCNS certification)

In addition to clinical opportunities, the MU Center for Translational Neuroscience, Nextgen Precision Health and Cognitive Neuroscience Laboratory offer a vast array of academic and research opportunities. Currently, there are established basic and translational research programs with 30+ clinical trials in Neurology.
