The role involves providing consultative services for a range of acute neurological issues in various hospital settings, including the Emergency Department, medical and surgical floors, and ICUs.
Program & Position Highlights:
- **Consultative Service:** Neurology in the Northwest Region is a consultative service only.
- **Inpatient Coverage:** 24 weeks of inpatient coverage per year, with each week defined as 7 consecutive days of an 8 AM to 8 PM schedule, including shared telephone-based evening call coverage.
- **Weekend Coverage:** Weekend evenings are covered by Teleneurology.
- **Clinical Supervision:** Willingness to provide hands-on clinical supervision and teaching of advanced practice providers is preferred.
- **Acute Stroke Care:** Comfort with acute stroke care is essential.
- **Professional Opportunities:** Participate in clinical research, quality improvement, patient experience initiatives, resident and faculty interviews, and lectures.
- **Facility:** 109-bed community hospital located in the scenic Northwest Corner of Connecticut.
