We are looking for a dynamic, motivated Physical Medicine and Rehab Physician (PM&R)/ Physiatrist or Neurologist to join our practice in Teaneck and North Bergen. The incoming physician will be examining patients and diagnosing pain because of an injury, disease, or a disabling condition. The physician will then be determining and implementing appropriate treatment plans for patients and recommending and undertaking various medical procedures. The incoming physician will be splitting coverage between the offices in Teaneck and North Bergen, NJ

We are looking for a dynamic, motivated Physical Medicine and Rehab Physician (PM&R)/ Physiatrist or Neurologist to join our practice in Teaneck and North Bergen. The incoming physician will be examining patients and diagnosing pain because of an injury, disease, or a disabling condition. The physician will then be determining and implementing appropriate treatment plans for patients and recommending and undertaking various medical procedures. Duties:
- Diagnosing pain because of an injury, disease, or a disabling condition.
- Determining and implementing appropriate treatment plans for patients including Physical therapy.
- Monitoring ongoing progress and health of patients, and changing treatment plans, as necessary.
- Providing adaptive tools to improve the overall health and physical functioning of patients.
- Counseling patients and their families and helping them adapt to lifestyle changes.
- Conducting research on injuries, diseases, and disabling conditions to improve and advance treatments.
- Performs initial evaluation on each patient to determine patient’s need and ability to participate in the rehabilitation process.
- Initiate’s prescriptions to be followed by the appropriate therapy units, and modifies that prescription as indicated by the patient’s response to therapy and his/her medical condition.
- Conducts periodic re-evaluations of each patient to determine progress and indication for change or discontinuance of treatment.
- Prescribes appropriate prosthetic and orthotic devices as indicated. Checks for proper fitting of such devices.
- Keeps complete medical records of all services provided and the patients’ progress.
- Interacts with community-based referral sources, i.e. physicians, social workers, rehabilitation nurses, insurance companies, DVR counselors, etc., to facilitate patient care and patient referrals
- Perform or Refer for Interventional pain/spine procedures, Joint/Soft-tissue injections with/without ultrasound
Requirements:
- MD/DO licensed in NJ
- Board-Certified or Board-Eligible with American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (ABPMR) or BCBE Neurologist
- Basic EMG skills or enthusiasm to hone skills with on-the-job mentorship
- MSK Ultrasound and/or Interventional skills a plus but not required
- Full time or Part time
