UT Tyler School of Medicine - UT Health East Texas is actively hiring an epileptologist to join the Clinical Faculty at our Neurological Institute location in beautiful Tyler, TX. This is an excellent opportunity to practice academic epileptology in a patient-focused and comprehensive epilepsy care program, including seizure management, EEG monitoring, refractory, and full-breadth epilepsy specialist cases. Academic Appointment and rank will be based on tenure and experience. Opportunities for research and teaching are available. About this Neurology-Epilepsy Job Opening:
- Outpatient Focus: Full-time, 1.0 FTE position with no hospital call.
- Specialty Group: Join a team of 8 neurologists and 3 APCs who take first call.
- Faculty Title: Academic Appointment rank to be determined
- Daily Patient Load: 12-18 new and follow-up epilepsy patients.
- On-site Testing: Dedicated EEG, EMG, and NCS procedure rooms. EMU available.
- Schedule: Monday-Friday, with occasional weekend coverage.
- Clinic Call: telephone only (no hospital call requirement)
- EMR: Epic
Minimum Qualifications:
- Certification: ABPN board-certified or board-eligible in Neurology-Epilepsy.
- Experience: 2+ years of clinical experience preferred, but graduating Epilepsy or Clinical Neurophysiology Fellows are encouraged to apply.
- Skills: Strong background in EEG; experience with EMG/NCS is preferred.

About UT Tyler School of Medicine:
The University of Texas at Tyler School of Medicine is the first medical school in East Texas and the seventh in The University of Texas System. Its mission is to train future healthcare professionals to embrace responsibility for the unique needs of rural and hard-to-reach communities and populations, particularly those in East Texas.
The school offers a robust Graduate Medical Education program, with 20 residency and fellowship training programs, enabling graduates to gain specialized skills in areas such as family medicine, internal medicine, neurology, psychiatry, surgery, and anesthesia.
