Providence St. Luke’s invites a BC/BE neurologist with fellowship training in neuromuscular medicine and electrodiagnostics to join a large, sophisticated and collegial neuroscience care team composed of neurologists and physiatrists. As a regional referral center, we see a wide variety of neuromuscular diagnoses and provide specialty care for patients from eastern Washington, northern Idaho, western Montana, Oregon, and Alaska. We are an ALS Center of Excellence and part of the MDA Care Center Network. As part of the Providence Neuroscience Institute, St. Luke’s is supported by Sacred Heart Medical Center, a 644-bed hospital that is the educational and referral hub of eastern Washington. The outpatient neurologist in this full-time position will serve as the Medical Director of our ALS Center of Excellence and provide cutting-edge care for a full spectrum of neuromuscular disease with support from outpatient subspecialty neurologists in epilepsy, multiple sclerosis, movement disorder, stroke, cognitive-behavioral/dementia, sleep medicine and inpatient 24/7 neurohospitalists. The successful candidate will have a commitment to patient care and leadership skills to guide a multidisciplinary ALS team.
- Our outpatient neuromuscular center is embedded within St. Luke's, the flagship rehabilitation hospital for Providence, and affiliated with the Neurology and Neurosurgery Divisions within the Providence Neuroscience Institute
- Outpatient clinical practice; 100% neuromuscular medicine and electrodiagnosis; no hospital call coverage.
- Board-certification/Board eligibility in neurology required.
- Fellowship training or board certifications in neuromuscular medicine and electrodiagnostic medicine required.
- Lead a multidisciplinary ALS team with members from physiatry, physical and occupational therapy, speech therapy, dietetics, respiratory therapy, social work, and collaborate with our local ALS association.
- Support from specialty-trained nurse practitioners and subspecialty neurology colleagues
- Providence Medical Research Center provides a high level of support for clinical trials. In addition, research collaboration opportunities with Washington State University (WSU), University of Washington (UW), Eastern Washington University, University of Idaho, University of Montana, and Gonzaga University are available.
- Eligibility for clinical faculty appointment at WSU Elson S Floyd College of Medicine and UW School of Medicine. Resident and medical student teaching and mentorship opportunities as desired.
- Compensation is between $260,686 and $382,015 per year
- Compensation includes signing bonus, annual CME benefits, call pay, productivity and quality/service incentives, and comprehensive benefits package.
