The Department of Neurology at Thomas Jefferson University is seeking a BC/BE Neurologist with subspecialty training in Movement Disorders to join the faculty of a comprehensive multidisciplinary program.

Applicants at all academic ranks are encouraged to apply, but the current position may be best suited for a junior to mid-career candidate. Candidates should have experience evaluating and managing patients with Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS) so that we can improve access for our growing Functional Neurosurgical program. Candidates with additional experience in clinical or translational research, education, or leadership are encouraged to apply.

For clinician educators, there are abundant opportunities for teaching medical students, residents, fellows. Opportunities to serve as Principal Investigator for multi-center clinical trials, or to serve in leadership, educational, or administrative roles are available through the department and health system. As Jefferson Health has incorporated several hospital systems in the tristate area, opportunities to establish a subspecialty presence in the community are available as well.

The Jefferson Comprehensive Parkinson’s Disease and Movement Disorders Center has been recognized as a Parkinson Foundation Center of Excellence and provides advanced tertiary level care in an academic center in the heart of Philadelphia. The Division and Center have ample support available for faculty including advanced practice providers, a nurse, social worker, genetic counselor, physical therapist, care coordinator, and administrative assistant. Collaborations with other divisions of Neurology, Neurosurgery, Neuroscience, Psychiatry, and Rehabilitation Medicine abound.

The Department of Neurology employs over 70 faculty representing all subspecialties in Neurology and provides a collaborative and rich academic environment for young faculty members in a vibrant city with a favorable cost of living.Salary is commensurate with experience, rank and includes additional performance incentives and excellent university benefits. In addition to outpatient subspecialty care, faculty are expected to participate in departmental and divisional meetings.
